World’s biggest creative technology group opens global HQ in Oxford

SAE Institute today opened its world headquarters at its largest campus to date in Oxford.

SAE Institute is a leading higher education company, specialising in creative media, including audio engineering, 3D animation, digital filmmaking, games design and web development. At 33,000 square feet, the campus will be SAE’s biggest creative technology centre, as well as the flagship school amongst the 54 SAE Institutes that already exist in 26 countries around the world. SAE currently employs more than 110 people in the UK and is projecting growth of 150 per cent over the next five years.

The new campus will offer state of the art facilities including bespoke teaching facilities and professional recording studios equipped with the latest industry standard technologies.

HRH the Duke of York was invited by SAE to attend the opening as the guest of honour and was accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Australia, HE Paul Madden on a tour of the facility. At its conclusion His Royal Highness was invited to unveil the plaque and officially declare the new state of the art world headquarters of SAE institute open.

Speaking at the event British High Commissioner Paul Madden added:

“The investment by SAE Institute to re-locate their headquarters to Oxford is significant for the UK education sector. Apart from the Oxford site, SAE Institute also expect that further sites will be developed in the UK providing additional employment opportunities and local economic growth. I fully expect SAE Institutes in the UK to become the destination of choice for creative technology students from all around the world.”

Dr Tom Misner, the original founder of SAE Institute said:

“The SAE Group is pleased to have HRH the Duke of York officially opening the Group’s Global Headquarters. This opening marks the culmination of two years of cooperation between the SAE Group and UK Trade & Investment and we are grateful for the professionalism, and sustained support that UK Trade & Investment has provided during this time.”

In the UK, SAE also operates in Glasgow, Liverpool, and London.

In 2011, SAE Institute was acquired by Navitas, a publicly listed education provider. Navitas are a global leader in the development and provision of educational services and university programmes.

The Vice-Chancellor of Middlesex University, Professor Michael Driscoll, who attended the opening said:

“SAE Institute in the UK is a valued Associate College awarding Middlesex University degrees, and we take pride in the achievements of this long term partnership”.
