E-learning company Learning Pool has moved to expand its UK operation into South Africa, with help and support from UK Trade & Investment.

During a visit by Learning Pool to South Africa, UK Trade & Investment set up meetings for the company with useful contacts in the South African Government. The company followed up with them when it returned to the UK, and has since sent out several business proposals. Learning Pool also turned to UK Trade & Investment to better understand the basics of establishing a business in South Africa, along with its business culture and legal environment. It has now hired a local consultant who it met during the trade mission, to serve as a local representative. This experience in South Africa has given the company a taste of working abroad, and it is beginning to research the possibility of building the business in Australia.
