Mexico - Aluminum Injection Moulding

Automotive Tier1’s calls international manufacturers of Aluminum Injection moulding tools for supply given the lack of locally made equipment and the necessity of quick delivery and short response timeframes for servicing or repair.

The head of Mexico’s north-eastern automotive cluster  has stated that the country’s Tier1’s (such as GKN, NEMAK, MAGNA, and many others) are forced to import all aluminum injection molding tools from abroad as there are no national manufacturers of these types of equipment.

Because of this, automotive suppliers are forced to accept long delivery timeframes which affect their regular production processes. When spare parts are required, or when a complete breakdown happens to their existing equipments, companies would greatly benefit from having a local manufacturer of such tools.

Because most tool manufacturers do not operate in Mexico (other than with a sales office), any company looking to fabricate these types of tools in the country would be accessing an untapped market niche that holds significant business value.

If your products fit in the above description, or have experience in supplying automotive companies in this area, the Advanced Engineering UKTI team in Monterrey, Mexico can support your company in approaching this and other Tier 1 companies in the country to discuss potential supply contracts. Securing meetings, consultation, specific market advise and key point of contact inside the organization to assess interest are just some of the ways the local team can help you develop a business relationship with local companies.

Interested UK companies should register their interest via the link below to contact UKTI Monterrey for more information on this potential opportunity.
