Argentina - Visit of Owners of US$ 100m Motor Sports Themed Park to UK

On 1 March the owners of the Velociudad Motor Sports themed park will visit the UK to present at a seminar on business opportunities in Argentina and are looking to meet with UK Companies.

When completed in three years, this will be a 62 Hectare automotive-themed leisure centre at whose heart will be a 4.8 kms racetrack approved to Formula One standards. The project is owned by Canadian entrepreneur Eddie Freedman and will have a total cost of US$ 100 million. The full project will include (phase one elements, to be completed by December 2012,  in italics):

  • Nine racetrack configurations including the possibility of up to three operating in parallel (3.1 kms in phase one).

  • A “car club”, operating a bit like a leisure boat marina where owners of premium vehicles can store them securely and book the race tracks to race them. Being members of the club would also give them access to mechanical facilities on site.

  • Velociudad Academy: A driving school to teach race car driving as well as specialty driving including defensive driving, ambulance driving, fire engine driving and police car driving.

  • Brand houses: commercial properties leased to brands who want to have a stronger presence on site selling vehicles, branded goods, etc.

  • Retail village

  • Hotel & Spa

  • Conference & Exhibition Centre

  • Serviced flats

  • A 4x4 training course

  • Medical facilities

The site has been designed and construction will be supervised by a consortium led by the UK’s Populous architectural practice

Budget: US$ 100 million

A seminar on the motor industry in Argentina, also covering opportunities in motor sports and the Velociudad project will take place in London on 1  March.
