Copyright deal agreed with China
The new Memorandum of Understanding on copyright will see both countries work together on a number of issues designed to promote a stronger national and international economy – providing a shot in the arm for businesses in the UK looking to step up their export portfolios.
Under the terms of the deal, Britain and China will share ideas and best practice, while promoting the importance of intellectual property.
The two countries will also work together in developing training and understanding of copyright laws so businesses can build up closer relationships.

Baroness Wilcox, the Intellectual Property Minister, who signed the Memorandum of Understanding on copyright with Liu Binjie, Minister of the National Copyright Administration in China, said the two countries would be brought closer together.
She said the business prospects will improve in both countries, and that UK firms that get a better understanding of how copyright laws work in China will have greater access to the market.
Baroness Wilcox added: “The agreement will also help develop ways of protecting companies in both countries from missing out on the benefits of their creativity through piracy and counterfeiting.
“This government is committed to helping British companies export and this agreement is part of efforts to help firms grow overseas.”
