Market Visit Support

Market Visit Support (MVS) offers assistance to small and medium sized companies who are either new exporters or existing exporters wishing to target new overseas markets

How Can Market Visit Support Help Me?

Using Market Visit Support, companies are able to visit overseas markets where UKTI has a presence, either as part of an organised group, or where appropriate on an individual basis. UKTI provides support in preparing for the visit, ensuring that the company is properly prepared to make the most of their time in the market, and can provide funding to assist with travel and accommodation costs.

Currently Market Visit Support is available in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Eligible companies should be working with a UKTI International Trade Advisor, or equivalent, and the visit should form part of the company’s trade development and export strategy. MVS is not aimed at experienced exporters who are already established in a market and who, for example, simply wish to visit existing contacts.

The purpose of the visit will of course vary depending upon the company’s needs and may include market research, visiting potential sales leads, visiting trade fairs and meeting prospective agents or distributors. UKTI provides companies with support both before and during the visit through the Overseas Market Introduction Service, which provides tailored assistance from the British Consulates, Embassies and High Commissions overseas.

How Can I Find out More?

MVS is managed regionally in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with a focus on local priorities and demands. Funding is limited and the demand is usually high.

Take the first step, and contact your local International Trade Team to find out more about MVS, its suitability for your business, and your eligibility. You'll find details of our regional offices on our contacts page, or use our postcode searcher, labelled as "Contacts in your Region" on our export landing page
