International Adventures in Wonderland

UK Trade & Investment’s Passport to Export programme helped a Derbyshire based publishing house put its golf inspired fine art publications firmly on the international fairway

Wonderland Publications produce luxury quality, handmade, contemporary fine art folios, books, prints and original artworks. Utilising experience and expertise gained from careers in media and fine art and design, creative entrepreneurs, Paul Skellet and Simon Weitzman created ‘Golf’, the first in a series of publications based on an entirely original business model.

To help them develop their global strategy they called on the services of UK Trade & Investment and were soon put in touch with International Trade Adviser, John Wilson.

John recommended that Paul and Simon sign up for UKTI’s Passport to Export programme to support them in the development of their international strategy.

The programme is designed to give new exporters all the tools they need to grow their international business, including match funding, training, mentoring and action planning.

“Signing up to Passport helped us massively”, says Paul, “We knew we had to bridge ourselves between the UK and the States and the funding helped us with our travel expenses to get that initial footing in the US to start the process of digitising archives.”
