Carbon Clear brand launches in Turkey

At a signing ceremony at the British Consulate in Istanbul on 18th May 2010 Carbon Clear and Reysaş Environmental have signed a deal which launches the Carbon Clear brand in Turkey.

Companies in Turkey and around the world are increasingly embracing the efficiency savings and brand credo to be gained by managing their carbon impact, providing an opportunity for carbon management companies to provide expertise and knowledge in this exciting new area.

Mark Chadwick, CEO of Carbon Clear, says ‘Carbon Management is at the heart of progressive business practice – helping companies to be more competitive and to meet increasing consumer expectation around corporate responsibility. At Carbon Clear we are excited by the opportunity to work with Turkish organisations to measure and reduce their carbon impact – a fundamental contribution in the fight against climate change’.

Rıfat Vardar, General Manager of Reysaş Environmental, says “We are looking forward to Reysaş Environmental playing a significant role in increasing the carbon management capacity of the private sector, especially post-2012 when new and empowered mechanisms for combating climate change will come into effect in Turkey.”

In addition to carbon management services, Carbon Clear Turkey will be working with project developers to supply high-quality, certified carbon offset credits to the growing carbon market. A country without binding targets under Kyoto, Turkey is ideally placed to develop carbon projects for the voluntary carbon market
