IT & Electronics Sector in Ireland
Ireland is the third largest exporter of software in the world generating €12 billion annually. There are 140 international companies and roughly 700 Irish companies operating in the sector. Seven of the top ten ICT companies in the world operate here.
Approximately 20% of Western Europe’s electronics output is generated in Ireland and it is one of the leaders in semiconductors and ICT equipment. Many of the major multinationals have manufacturing or fabrication or R&D facilities in Ireland.
