Lithuania – Development of Kaunas Public Logistics Centre

The Government Public Logistics program for 2009-2012 includes the start of infrastructure construction of Kaunas Public Logistics Centre (PLC) in Q2 2012.

Kaunas Public Logistics Centre will be developed in Karmėlava, where Kaunas International Airport and Kaunas free economic zone are established.

Currently, the feasibility study for Kaunas Public Logistics Centre is being prepared.

The organization responsible for the development of the project is Lithuanian Railways.

The cost of the centre will be announced after the development of the feasibility study. Funding will be both public and private.

The construction works will start in the 2nd quarter of 2012. It is estimated that the centre will start its activities in the end of 2014.
