Meet the team
The GEP Team consists of a network of internationally successful entrepreneurs, who offer their insight and experience to help our client companies accelerate into global markets from the UK .
Sarah Turner
Sarah has spent most of the last 15 years working with and around start-ups as an advisor and supporter.
She is a founder and director of Unthinkable, a consultancy that understands the potential of digital media and how to use it to create better connections.
Prior to founding Unthinkable, Sarah was MD of Wired Sussex, a digital media networking and venture group, and a founding Director of TIGA, the trade body for games developers.
Anmol Nayyar
Anmol Nayyar has over ten years of global business experience and is currently based in New Delhi.
He founded IndEU Capital, an international private equity firm and is the India founding partner for Bryan, Garnier & Co, a leading European investment bank.
He has advised some of the world’s leading corporations including Apax, ICICI, Airtel and Goldman Sachs. He is a board member of several companies including the Style Kitchen, India’s leading health food company, a charter member of TiE and the Deputy Chairman of the UK-India Business Angels Network.
James Graham
James is a climate change and renewable energy entrepreneur with more than 12 years' experience in these fields. James has worked in Europe, North America and Asia, including a 3 years in Beijing.
In 2003, James co-founded Camco and took the business to a listing on the AIM market. He is a founding board member of the Carbon Markets and Investors Association, an international trade association.
James left Camco to build a portfolio of private business activities and helps developers of renewable energy assets and technologies to raise finance.
Gideon Shmuel
As the Global Entrepreneur Programme’s Israeli expert, Gideon builds networks and facilitates breakthrough projects from Israel .
For the past 18 years Gideon has been involved in growing ICT companies, running and establishing the business activities and operations of several companies in various countries.
Whilst living in London for 10 years Gideon established and managed a number of technology businesses including foreign owned enterprises and large publicly listed organisations, using the UK as the springboard to international expansion.
Alpesh B Patel
As a GEP dealmaker, Alpesh aims to find the most innovative firms in India and make them global companies with a global HQ in the UK.
He is a founder of Agile Partners Asset Management. Alpesh is also a member of the Indo-British Partnership and UK-India Roundtable and the Investment Advisory Committee, ICICI Bank’s Private Bank Division, which evaluates best-of-breed global funds. He has developed channels with organisations such as Nasscom, TiE, IIT, IIM and ISB.
Tony Kypreos
Tony’s role in the Global Entrepreneur Programme is to develop partnerships and facilitate innovative technology based ventures in the UK.
Tony is a founding investor in Springboard Accelerator, a shareholder in various companies and a board adviser to Upstream Systems. Previously he was Group Managing Director of Bauer Digital.
In addition to his Telecoms, Media and Technology experience, Tony spent nine years in marketing roles at Nestle SA and Diageo Plc. He holds a BSc (Hon) in Physics & Electronic Systems, Brunel University and an MBA from Henley Business School.
Sheetal Mehta
Sheetal aims to help technology start-ups access finance and provide support with the practicalities of setting up in the UK, providing up-to-date information on the latest opportunities, lending her experience as an entrepreneur and helping them leverage funding.
Sheetal began her career in the Middle East as Director of WestLB, and worked for Microsoft as Director VC Relations. She is also CEO and founder of Innovative Social Ventures Ltd, helping global companies in the field of fundraising, technical due diligence and corporate partnering.
Andrew Humphries
Andrew’s role is to help entrepreneurs and new businesses find the best and most profitable opportunities fast in new markets.
Andrew has had senior executive roles in Sales, Marketing and Product Management for some of the largest US and European IT manufacturers;
In 1999 he joined a small UK internet start-up and was part of the executive team that raised over $42m, and developed that company into the world’s largest and most successful Alert and Messaging solutions provider.
Andrew Corbett Jones
Andrew’s role is to find the best entrepreneurs in Australia and New Zealand and link them into the extensive UK networks.
When in London he designed and implemented online strategies for clients such as Redwood Publishing, British Telecom, Molton Brown, Diageo, and Absolut. Andrew is currently director of Sydney-based firm Thumper One, which advises and incubates technology companies, the co-founder of a boutique corporate advisory firm providing strategy and capital-raising services and the director of an Australian biotechnology company.
Charles Seely
Our US-based dealmaker scans the globe for top entrepreneurs and technologies to bring to the UK.
Charles Seely is an entrepreneur and the founder of Esos Ventures, shareholder/board member of Slooh, a shareholder in companies such as Slated, Progreso Financiero, Qwiki and Bonobos. He was on the Advisory Board of MetroLeap Media/Metrolyrics, part of the key team at TCS, a telecom software company, founder of online retailer Brandfever and has 3 years financial restructuring experience as a board member of various private & public companies.
