Abiraterone

Abiraterone is a drug for advanced prostate cancer. It was discovered at the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in London, by a team working in the Cancer Research UK Cancer Therapeutics Unit.

It is one of six new drugs for prostate cancer that have been shown in patient trials over recent years to extend life for men with advanced prostate cancer – including four that the ICR and The Royal Marsden helped develop.
