Cancer imaging
The expertise of their joint unit covers all the major forms of imaging, with particular strengths in magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, together with key projects in ultrasound, nuclear medicine, X-ray detectors and imaging applied to radiotherapy and focused ultrasound therapy.
The team is developing new techniques to non-invasively assess cancer growth and characteristics and the success of treatment. The rise of personalised medicine is making this research particularly important, as conventional imaging may no longer be appropriate to monitor patients’ responses to next-generation drugs.
