Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre

The Institute of Cancer Research’s Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre includes more than 150 scientists working across 12 teams to defeat breast cancer.

The London-based centre receives the majority of its funding from parent charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer and was opened in 1999 by Breakthrough's Patron, HRH The Prince of Wales.

Its focus is on identifying new breast cancer risk genes, understanding the causes of the disease and improving doctors’ ability to diagnose and treat it.
