The World Bank is forecasting global economic growth of 3.3% by 2015; Africa, meanwhile, is forecast to grow at a rate of 4.9% this year, rising to 5.4% by 2015. Amongst those enjoying a growth spurt are Mozambique, Tanzania, Ghana and Zambia, joining countries such as South Africa and Kenya which are already enjoying their own booms.
High commodity prices and strong consumer spending are driving the change in Africa’s fortunes as the continent is set to make up over a 5th of the world population by the middle of the century.
This event will provide you with an insight into doing business on the African continent and how to seize the growing commercial opportunities in the region. Experts will be on hand to share their knowledge on:
The current trading conditions and ease of doing business
The opportunities for business across a number of sectors
Routes to market and business across borders
How to seek the opportunity and manage the risk of trading in Africa.
There will also be the chance to hear from experts representing UKTI and Barclays as well as two local businesses during a panel discussion in which they will draw on their experiences of developing business on the continent and answer your questions.
Our Commonwealth links with this continent provide similarities in language, legal systems and administrative procedures, making business easier to navigate than you may initially think. Can your company afford to overlook the growing prospects in Africa?
