About the mission
Singapore continues to invest in infrastructure projects, and the government announced that it will double its metro (MRT) system network by 2020 as part of a £20 billion spend on infrastructure projects, including rail and road.
Organised by RIA on behalf of UKTI, this mission is timed to allow companies travelling to the AusRail+ show in Brisbane make a stop-over in Singapore. Delegates may also wish to attend the rail conference taking place in Kuala Lumpur in the days preceding the mission (www.AsiaRail.com).
The mission is likely to be of interest to technology providers, construction companies, consultants and specialist service providers working in infrastructure, stations, signalling and rolling stock. The mission is open to all UK suppliers including those with offices in Singapore and the region.
Reserve your place
To reserve your place, complete and return the attached application form.
This mission is likely to be popular and RIA reserves the right the restrict numbers taking part and may need to limit the delegate numbers to one per company.
Costs
In order to arrange the programme and the networking reception we are required to commission a Group OMIS (OMIS is UKTI’s chargeable Overseas Market Introduction Service). Costs for this will be shared by the participants at an anticipated level of £100 per participating company, based on the envisaged group size.
This will cover group meetings only, but if delegates are interested in a more specific one-to-one meetings programme, tailored to their product/service, there may be opportunity to commission further work to arrange this. However, one-to one meetings will need to integrate with, or sit outside, the main programme.
Travel and accommodation
Delegates will need to make their own travel arrangements. The outline programme (subject to confirmation) will be:
15/16 November: travel from UK
17 November: meeting with Land Transport Authority (update on the MRT programme/UK company presentations); meet with Operator SMRT networking reception with invited guests from industry
18 November: meetings with operator SBS; meetings with local private sector companies working or bidding on railway projects
19 November: return/onward travel
A full programme will be sent to registered delegates and RIA will arrange local hotel accommodation on your behalf. However, delegates will be responsible for paying charges, including cancellation fees if applicable.
Insurance
Prior to participation you should ensure that you have suitable and adequate travel insurance, which should include, as appropriate, cover for any loss or damage to a person, property or earnings. Participants should also ensure that the insurance covers travel on work purposes and for the relevant time period.
