British Business Pavilion at the World Islamic Economic Forum
The WIEF is a global forum that brings together Muslim and non-Muslim communities through business. This year - the 9th WIEF - will be the most ambitious yet.

In the video above Trade & Investment minister Lord Green highlights the importance of the World Islamic Forum to the UK and UK business. The British Business Pavilion will explore the latest solutions in the areas of healthcare, education, finance and smart cities and will flow seamlessly from the headline WIEF sessions. It will bring together British companies and international decision makers from a wide range of high growth markets, creating a global marketplace under one roof.
Participation in the World Islamic Economic Forum has grown from 600 delegates at the first forum in Kuala Lumpur in 2005 to 15 visiting global leaders and more than 1,800 delegates expected from over 115 countries across the Islamic world and beyond coming to London this week. Delegations attending this year’s World Islamic Economic Forum are expected to represent more than half of UK Trade and Investment’s priority high growth markets. Islamic countries represent some of the world’s fastest growing markets globally and some of the UK's most significant trading partners. Some of these regions have amongst the highest growth figures in the world; for example, ASEAN markets are growing by 5% per year.
British Business Pavilion programme
The British Business Pavilion will run four half day events to compliment the main themes of the WIEF. The sessions and workshops will cover the latest business opportunities, expertise and innovative solutions in:
The latest innovations in these industries will be explored during each event, with high-profile UK and foreign speakers, including Ministers. Simultaneous translation into Arabic will be provided at BBP events. Simultaneous translation into Arabic will be provided at BBP Plenary events only.
As part of the British Business Pavilion pass delegates will have access to the British Business Pavilion lounge. This area will give delegates the opportunity to network, work between sessions and explore the showcase which will exhibit the best in healthcare, education finance and smart cities developments.
The British Business Pavilion networking lounge will include showcasing areas, presenting excellent opportunities for UK companies to promote their products to a wide ranging international audience including decision makers. Products that are displayed in the lounge will be on show for the duration of the event and will be seen by all British Business Pavilion delegates
