India - Deployment of MPLS Network in Pan India

Government of India Enterprise, invites bids from eligible bidders for deployment of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Network in pan India on global competitive bidding basis.

The scope for the IP/MPLS based Converged Network project includes survey, planning, design, engineering, supply, installation & commissioning, integration with existing system, testing, performance, acceptance and support of:

1. All types of MPLS Equipment (Routers).

2. All associated hardware, cables, switches, accessories and fittings.

3. Network & Element Management System (NMS & EMS) & its associated hardware & software

4. All other associated works/items described in the technical specifications for a viable and fully functional MPLS Network/system.

5. Establishment of fully equipped Main Network Operation Center (NoC) & Disaster Recovery (DR)- NOC.

6. Spares

Bids must be submitted at or before 1100 hours (IST) on 19.07.2010. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 2,80,000 or EURO 2,08,000 or INR 1,24,56,000/ or equivalent .

POWERGRID is a notified Central Transmission Utility (CTU) and is playing a strategic role in the Indian Power Sector. POWERGRID has implemented various transmission projects and enhanced its network to about 74,000 Circuit Kms, 124 sub-stations and transformation capacity of about 82,100 MVA. POWERGRID wheels about 45% of total power generated in the country through its transmission network.
