India – Hydro Tunnelling Project
An Indian infrastructure company is looking for expertise in hydro tunnelling from the UK. The Indian company is well established and specialises in expansion joints, waterproofing and thermal insulation. It provides constructions services for road, railways, underground construction and hydropower projects. It has over 200 employees and a turnover of nearly £ 20 million with offices through India. The company has been in existence for over 15 years and is led by a young and dynamic entrepreneur with aggressive growth plans. It already has joint ventures with overseas companies, marrying their expertise with local knowledge and contacts to create mutual success in the Indian market.
The company now wants to scale up its growth plans and would like to bid for some upcoming hydropower projects. It is looking for a tie-up with a UK company that has an expertise in hydro tunnelling. The company is mainly looking at a long term partnership for technology and expertise. However, it is open to discussing partnership arrangements, which could be a mutually suitable option between e.g. a technology tie-up, consortium partnership or a joint venture.
