This event is specifically a Kazakhstan-UK Nuclear Energy Forum with the aim of briefing UK companies on the benefits of building strategic partnerships with counterparts in Kazakhstan and highlighting the opportunities available.   It will provide interested UK companies with an insight into Kazakhstan’s prospective plans and provide direct access to leading government and Kazatomprom officials as they initiate their programme of building international relationships.

The conference will be co-chaired by Vladimir Shkolnik, Chairman of the Board of Kazatomprom and Lady Barbara Judge, Chairman of the UK Atomic Energy Authority.  Kazatomprom is Kazakhstan’s national atomic energy company that structures and drives all aspects of the country’s nuclear energy industry, from uranium mining and processing through to power generation.

At a time when energy has become one of the most important issues across a range of sectors from industry, financing and security Kazakhstan is seeking to sharply boost its presence in the global nuclear industry not just as a supplier of uranium but as a stakeholder in foreign nuclear power generation capacity and, thereby, create an extensive range of technical and commercial parthership opportunities.

The forum will be of particular relevance to representatives from

  • Mining companies and consultants

  • Energy multinationals

  • Energy construction and engineering specialists

  • Shipping companies and logistics experts

  • Government and non governmental organisations
