Machine tool refurbishment opportunities in Sverdlovsk
The information in the report was collected by a survey of the need for different kinds of refurbishment and rebuilding activities. The survey covered 54 engineering and metallurgical companies of the Sverdlovsk Oblast and aimed for the period of 5 years.
A response was obtained from 34 companies, 20 companies ignored the questionnaire without stating the reason. Of the 34 responding companies, 7 (12.96%) indicated absence of interest, 3 companies refused to answer referring to confidentiality of the requested information.
The potential demand was assessed by results of the questionnaires completed by 24 companies (44.44% of the questioned companies) who had shown interest in diagnostics, rebuilding and refurbishment of their machine-tool fleet. The high percentage of answers confirms the demand and topicality of refurbishment for engineering companies of the region.
33.3% companies showed an interest in restoring the initial parameters (hereinafter referred to as rebuilding) of their machine-tools, 62.7% indicated the need for refurbishment, of them 20.83% companies indicated the need for complex refurbishment with the expected result to be improved machine-tool initial parameters, enhanced rated technological capabilities and capacity.
The survey has shown the interest in the following specific arrears (list is not exhaustive):
Refurbishment of lathes, milling, drilling and boring and rotary table machines
Refurbishment of 12 heavy-duty and unique machine tools
Demand for different rebuilding and refurbishment services, e.g. advanced diagnostic and measuring systems, replacement and upgrading of control systems, restoring of machine-tool mechanical and hydraulic systems
