HRH visiting Religare, a financial services group in India with investments in the UK.
HRH The Duke of York visits India – March 2010
HRH The Duke of York travelled to Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata during his visit to India from 8-13 March 2010.
In Mumbai, The Duke met with the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Mahindra and Mahindra, the Chairman of Essar Group, the President of Tata Motors, Passenger Cars Division and visited the Jaguar Land Rover Showroom. He also attended a reception for inward investors, a dinner for business leaders and met with members of the British Business Group.
In New Delhi, The Duke met the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, visited Religare and the new terminal at IGI New Delhi Airport, attended lunch with representatives of the Indian retail sector and dinner with members of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He was also Guest of Honour at the Queen’s Birthday party, which was hosted by the British High Commissioner to India, Sir Richard Stagg KCMG.
In Kolkata The Duke visited the HSBC BPO Centre and Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers. He also attended a Low Carbon Economy seminar, and met with senior members of the National Council of Confederation of Indian Industry.
