Role of the UKTI Secretariat
The UKTI Secretariat supports UKTI’s Executive Board and Executive Team and liaises with Buckingham Palace on the visits carried out by HRH The Duke of York in his role as the UK Special Representative for International Trade and Investment, where these support UKTI’s strategic objectives.
UKTI’s Executive Board
The UKTI Executive Board comprises the Executive Team, four Non-Executive Board Members and a representative from UKTI’s overseas network. Together, they contribute to the delivery of UK Trade & Investment’s corporate objectives by providing leadership and strategic direction; allocating resources to deliver corporate objectives; owning and managing the principal risks facing UK Trade & Investment; helping to strengthen planning, performance and change management in UK Trade & Investment and ensuring the operation of an effective corporate governance system of internal controls.
HRH The Duke of York
The Duke’s role with UK Trade & Investment involves promoting the UK as an attractive destination for Inward Investment and assisting UK companies exporting their products overseas.
His responsibilities include maintaining strong government and commercial contacts and relationships in the UK and abroad; delivering high-level access to British companies; supporting UK projects and bids directly through Government lobbying overseas; marketing the UK, hosting high-level trade conferences in the UK and providing regular, direct feedback to business and government through UKTI and the CBI on business issues both in the UK and overseas.
