Sir John Armitt appointed president of the British Business Club
The club, which is a unique online programme created by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), aims to bring together international and UK companies and help develop a lasting business legacy for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Members will be able to network with thousands of other companies to showcase their expertise and know-how by creating an online profile. The website will also provide access to networking events, business activity and news, and potential opportunities to encourage and build upon business connections overseas.
Lord Stephen Green, Minister for Trade and Investment, said:

Sir John, who was recently knighted for his services to construction and engineering, said:
“The British Business Club is sure to be a powerful business networking tool for both British and international firms. By allowing firms to build their networks and connect with business partners worldwide, it will increase their opportunities to meet and engage with potential partners during the unique atmosphere of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
The British Business Club is a partnership between UKTI, London & Partners, the London Business Network and BIS, on behalf of the UK-wide London 2012 Business network.
Membership of the British Business Club is free and open to businesses both in the UK and overseas markets.
Members are also able to promote relevant business events as well as benefit from exclusive offers, including London hotel discounts.
