The UK marine sector is export-intensive, with international trade accounting for around 60 percent of turnover in some companies. Most companies in the sector are small to medium sized, and specialise in innovative technical solutions in areas like boat building, marine electronics and software, on-board equipment and many others.
Export targets in the marine sector vary according to a company’s experience of trading overseas.
